Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Occasionally, emergency cases will need urgent attention, which is why occasional appointment delays are inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

Drop-Off Appointments

For your convenience, “drop-off” appointments are available. A “drop-off” means that you bring your pet at a convenient time for you and leave him/her with us for the day (or a few hours). Usually we will ask you to drop off in the morning so the patient can be seen in time reserved for admitted patients or between scheduled appointments. Once the doctor is done with your pet, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and give you discharge instructions. There is a fee for this service to cover the necessary staff time and cage maintenance.

Payment Policy

Payment is due in full at the time services are rendered or product is received. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash and personal checks. However, if you have a large bill and need to make payments, ask us about a “Care Credit” application. It can often be approved that day.

Leash and Carrier Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Children in the Hospital

We adore having children in the exam room with their pets. We feel it is a great way to help them learn about everything necessary to take care of their furry friends. We do ask that children not approach animals not known to them. Animals can be frightened in the hospital and if they are not accustomed to children, a child’s quick movements may cause an unwanted reaction.

Positive Reinforcement:

Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings, and other pets. We suggest that you bring your pet hungry and ready to receive positive treat rewards. Feel free to bring your pet’s favorite treats or toys with you!

Restraint:

Also, because animals may be anxious during regular exams and vaccinations, we request that you allow our trained personnel to restrain them while procedures are performed. The gentlest and friendliest dog or cat can react unexpectedly when they have been injured or are being pricked with a needle.

Vaccinations:

For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that rabies vaccinations be up to date.
Payment Policy: We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, cash and personal checks. If you have a large bill and need time payments, we can give you a “Care Credit” application which often can be approved that day.
